Raymond A. Ceresa
Mr. Ceresa is a 1984 graduate of Washington & Lee University and a 1987 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law. Mr. Ceresa joined the law firm of Rees, Broome in 1987 and practiced law there until March 1997, when he opened his own firm. Mr. Ceresa has specialized in the representation of condominium and homeowner associations for more than 30 years. Mr. Ceresa has been married since 1990 and has four adult children (3 boys and 1 girl). Before he was an “empty nester” he spent much of his free time coaching his children’s sports teams. He is currently trying to figure out what to do with his newly found free time.
Among other things, Mr. Ceresa has assisted community association clients by:
- Conducting Board of Director Training
- Attending and advising regarding the conduct of Board of Director and Annual Meetings
- Preparing and amending Association governing documents, including Declarations, Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation and Policy Resolutions
- Providing counsel regarding interpretations of association documents, in accordance with applicable state and federal law
- Enforcing Association covenants, rules and architectural guidelines though court action
- Advising and defending Associations regarding Fair Housing claims
- Obtaining certifications for eligibility for Federal Housing Administration Financing
- Dramatically reduced assessment delinquency rates with aggressive and cost-effective representation
- Advising communities that are transitioning from developer to owner control and providing advice regarding warranty issues
